Background

The AIT Alumni Association was established in 1969 to develop mutual understanding among the alumni, and between them and the Institute.

To date, AITAA-National Chapters are found in Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Central Asia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Peoples Republic of China, Philippines, Republic of China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States of America and Vietnam. Furthermore, there are now 14,000 alumni from 74 countries and territories all over the world.

The Corporate power and management of the Association is exercised, administered and controlled by the Governing Board, which consists of the Executive Committee and representatives of the National Chapters. The Governing Board meets annually to discuss the achievements of the alumni body and to decide further on significant strategies to strengthen and improve AITAA activities.

Vision

AITAA will be a strong and influential group, with members assuming a leadership role in the promotion of technological change and its management in governments, universities, industries and other sectors, as AIT's main instrument in realizing its mission.

AITAA will be actively involved in the affairs of AIT and significantly contribute to its financial sustainability and growth, thereby maintaining the Institute's good reputation as a center of excellence for advanced education in South Asia and the Pacific Region.

AITAA will be the hub of an exceptional network of regional and global contacts providing business opportunities for the alumni.

Mission

To create a unified body, develop mutual interest among the alumni, establish mutually beneficial relations between the Institute and its alumni, and promote the interests of the Institute and the fulfillment of its Mission.
AITAA-Bangladesh
AITTAA-Bangladesh is an important member of AITAA-mother chapter and is operating since 1973. Now more than 800 have graduated from AIT from different schools and out of those around 200 graduates have become members of AITAA-Bangladesh Chapter. AITAA-Bangladesh is gradually increasing its number and almost in all private and public sectors and universities AITians are found working. Considering number of graduates, Bangladesh is the 5th largest country in AIT.
